            Arthur William “Ott” Christian, 83, of Wellsville, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family.

            Mr. Christian was born June 19, 1935 in rural Wellsville, a son of William Coleman and Alpha Pearl (Burch) Christian.  Arthur’s mother was killed in a car accident when he was 4 years old.  He was raised by his step-mother, Elizabeth Christian since the age of 4.

            He served his country in the United States Army, entering on May 12, 1955 and being honorably discharged on September 12, 1958.

            Arthur “Ott” married Helen Faye Hauser and they were the parents of Liz, Charlie and Ted.  He then married Marjorie Faye Weatherby on December 7, 1971 in Mexico, Missouri.  She preceded him in death on August 12, 2004.

            Arthur “Ott” had lived in Wellsville for the past 12 years.  Prior to that, he lived in Auxvasse for over 40 years. 

            He had attended New Testament Christian Church in Auxvasse.  Arthur “Ott” was a former member of the Lions Club.

            Arthur “Ott” had worked as a self-employed tire repairman.  He also was a produceman for over 20 years. 

            He enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, going to the coffee shop and spending time with his family.

            Arthur “Ott” is survived by his seven children and spouses, Danny Hauser, of Wellsville, Elizabeth “Liz” and Jim Fisher, of Chrisney, Indiana, Lora and David McCubbin, of Auxvasse, Rita Perry, of Calwood, Teresa Mackinnon, of Auxvasse, Ron and Pam Matteson, of Jacksonville, Florida and Wesley and Lola Matteson, of Kansas City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; step-mother, Anna Elizabeth Christian, of Wellsville; his companion, Linda Olmstead, of Wellsville; sisters, Della Mae Walag, of Centerville, Iowa and Martha Kay McCormack and husband, Alan, of Williamsburg; brother, Harold Donald Christian, of Farber; in addition to several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

            He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie Faye Christian; sons, William Theodore “Ted” Christian and Charles Donald “Charlie” Christian; infant brother; brothers, Bobby Christian and Danny Christian and sisters, Gloria Sue Hicks, Delores Fay Hank, Mardell Harlan.

            Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.  Rev. Don Combs officiated.  Soloist was his granddaughter, Lauren Clark.

            Visitation was held from 12:00 noon until the time of service, Thursday, at the funeral home.

            Burial was in the Wellsville Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were Josh Fisher, Brandon Matteson, Josh McCubbin, Zack McCubbin, Joe Swims, Johnny Swims and Jake Voigt.

            Full Military Honors were provided by Wellsville VFW Post 3056.  Missouri Military Funeral Honors Team folded and presented the United States Flag to his daughter, Lora.
