Obituary

            Eileen Ruth Cox, 86, of La Grange, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2019 at her home, with her children by her side.  

            Mrs. Cox was born July 30, 1933 in Springfield, Illinois, a daughter of Alison Cecil and Frances Mildred (Loesch) Erhart. 

            On March 10, 1950 at the Holiness Church in Middletown, Missouri, she married Marion Eugene “Shorty” Cox.  They shared over 60 years together, before he preceded her in death on October 11, 2010.

            Eileen had lived at her home in Wellsville for over 26 years.  She was a homemaker.  In earlier years, Eileen had worked at the Swingmaster Garment Factory in Wellsville.

            She enjoyed sewing and embroidery.  Eileen also loved tending to her flowers. 

            Eileen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Crystal Lynn and Jim McClaughry, of La Grange; son and daughter-in-law, Aaron Leroy and Michelle Cox, of Fisherville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Devin James McClaughry, Allison Eileen McClaughry and Sean Michael McClaughry and wife, Bryana, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Matthew George McClaughry and Joleen Grace McClaughry, of La Grange and Casey Burch, of Louisville; great-grandchildren, Tyce Griffen and Caia Burch, of Louisville, Kentucky; brother, Joseph Erhart and wife, Helen, of St. Peters and sister-in-law, Nellie McWhorter, of Wellsville.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marion Eugene “Shorty” Cox; grandson, Andrew Paul McClaughry; brothers, Norman B. Erhart and Robert Erhart and sister, Wanda Brady.

            Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.

            Graveside services followed at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, at the Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown.  Rev. Jonathan Bradley officiated.  Serving as pallbearers were Chic Casackkar, Aaron Cox, Jim McClaughry, Matthew McClaughry, Sean McClaughry and Charles Reese.  Honorary pallbearers were Dale Erhart and Devin McClaughry.

            Memorial contributions were suggested to the Fairmount Cemetery Association c/o Myers Funeral Home, 203 East Bates Street, Wellsville, MO 63384.
