Jackie "Jack" Lee Snyder

January 28, 1945 ~ February 27, 2018 (age 73)

                Jackie Lee “Jack” Snyder, 73, of Martinsburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital Audrain in Mexico, Missouri.

                Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 24th at Laddonia Christian Church in Laddonia, Missouri. 

                Mr. Snyder was born January 28, 1945, in Laddonia, Missouri, a son of Claude Thomas and Beatrice Elmara (Bushnell) Snyder. 

                On August 21, 1985 in Martinsburg, Missouri, he married Deborah Lynn Wilson.  He has lived in Martinsburg the last 33 years and in Laddonia prior to that. 

                Jack had been employed for Kansas City Southern Railroad as a machine operator.  He had also worked for GM&O, Illinois Central, Chicago Missouri and Western Railroad companies.

                He enjoyed fishing and deer and turkey hunting.  In earlier years, he coon hunted.  Jack loved all animals, especially his dogs, cats and chickens.  He liked working on things, mainly lawnmowers and chainsaws.

                Jack is survived by his wife, Deborah Lynn Snyder, of the home in Martinsburg; two sons, Charles Thomas “Charlie” Snyder and Daylan and Jasper Boston, of Martinsburg and Rick Chism and wife, Eldonna, of Laddonia; daughters, Lisa Lea Branstetter, of Farber and Angie Snyder, of Laddonia; seven grandchildren and spouses, Dustin and Mackenzie Chism, Calla Chism, Derek Chism, Kalene and Justin Gaston, Amber Snyder and Nathan Pargeon, Josh Snyder and Tori Gaston and Chad Branstetter; five great-grandchildren, Remington Chism, Layton Gaston, Kade and Barrett Pargeon and Aubree Snyder; brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnnie and Debbie Snyder, of Laddonia, Curtis and Cheryl Snyder, of Martinsburg, Gary Snyder, of Rush Hill, David and Brenda Snyder, of Laddonia; in addition to nieces, nephews and cousins.

                He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Beatrice Snyder and siblings, Lois Gullion, Opal Rinker, Melvin Snyder, Marvin Snyder, Charles Snyder, Kenny Snyder and infant brother, Tommy Snyder.

                Arrangements are under the direction of the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.
