Janet Elaine (Morris) Senevey

July 20, 1953 ~ August 15, 2018 (age 65)

          Janet Elaine Senevey, 65, of Martinsburg, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at her home in Martinsburg.

          Mrs. Senevey was born July 20, 1953 in Mexico, Missouri, a daughter of William Orlie Morris Sr. and Alma Rentha Benskin Morris.

          She was a 1971 graduate of Wellsville-Middletown R-1 High School.

          On May 12, 1973 in Wellsville, Missouri, she married Jerry Clayton Senevey, sharing over 45 years together.   They have lived at their current address the last 4 years.  Janet had lived most all of her life in Wellsville.

          She attended Grace Lutheran Church in Wellsville and had been baptized on June 8, 2018.

          Janet had been employed at Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville as a Nurse’s Aide for 10 years.  After that, she had worked at Fast Lane in Wellsville.

          She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casinos and playing scratch off tickets.  Janet loved country music, with Alan Jackson and Moe Bandy being her favorite artists.  In the spring of the year, she was able to go to the Grand Ole Opry with her family.

          Janet is survived by her husband, Jerry Clayton Senevey, of the home in Martinsburg; three children, Kimberly Lynn Guyton and Wayne Walker, of Martinsburg, Jeremy Clayton Senevey and wife, Cristina, of New Haven and Kayla Renee Senevey and fiance’ Kyle Oliver, of Mexico; grandchildren, Danielle DeBoard, of the state of Indiana, Skyler Guyton, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jonathon Delozier, of Wellsville, Emily Guyton, of Sedalia, Megan Espinosa and husband, Christian, of Laurie and Ruby, Nora and William Senevey, of New Haven; great-grandchildren, Lanny and Kioni DeBoard, of the state of Indiana; brother and sister-in-law, William Orlie “Billy” and Ava Morris Jr., of Wellsville; sisters, Brenda Marie Crawford, of Martinsburg and Sheila Denise Long and husband, John, of Marble Hill; in addition to nieces, nephews and cousins.

          She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Alma Morris; sisters, Deborah Sue “Debbie” Morris and Barbara June Whitworth; brother, Terry Lynn Morris and brothers-in-law, Noel Crawford and Wayne Whitworth.

          Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 17, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church in Wellsville.  Rev. Luke Wolters officiated.  Serving as organist was Phyllis Reagan.

          Burial was in the Wellsville Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were Chad Benskin, Jason Delozier, Anthony Morris, Shannon Morris, Timothy Morris, Kyle Oliver, Jeffrey Senevey and Wayne Walker.  Honorary pallbearers were Seth Oliver, Robert Wagoner and Curtis Whitworth. 

          Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service, Friday, at the church.

          Services were under the direction of the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.
