Nicki Nicole (Christian) Nation, 39, of Mexico, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Tuesday, January 14th in Callaway County, Missouri, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18th at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Rev. Mike Carmi will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday, at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Wellsville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Bryant Christian, Joshua Christian, Jacob Christian, Trenton Christian, Freddy Holmes and Jeffrey Holmes.
Nicki was born July 6, 1980 in Mexico, Missouri, a daughter of Charlotte Ann Christian.
On October 25, 2003 in Wellsville, Missouri, she married Curtis Allen Nation. They were the parents of a daughter, Addison Pearl.
Nicki attended Wellsville-Middletown R-1 High School and spent most all of her life in Wellsville.
She was currently employed at Hacienda Equipment Rental and Storage in Mexico as a receptionist. Nicki was the former owner and operator of Twisters Bar in Wellsville. She had also worked at Poppa B’s in Montgomery City.
Nicki was a free spirit. She expressed her spirituality through her paintings and poetry. When painting, she often said she felt free. Her talent of painting has been passed down to her beloved daughter, Addi. They spent many hours enjoying this special bond they had.
She enjoyed spending many hours studying constellations. She could name them all and the meaning behind each one. Nicki also loved playing and singing rock and roll.
Nicki believed death isn’t the end. She knows there’s a Heaven and often saw the Angels in the clouds.
Her smile shined for miles. Nicki’s giggle was unforgettable. Her heart was as big as life, and she would always help anyone. As Addi would say, “Mom was goofy!”
Nicki is survived by her daughter, Addison Pearl Nation; mother, Charlotte Ann Craven; brother, Brian Lee and Chelsey Christian, all of Wellsville; eight nieces and nephews, Racheal Marie, of Montgomery City, Bryant Micheal, Jacob Aaron (Samantha), Joshua Dylan (Erin), Trenton Colin (Cassandra), Indica Kelly, Cameron Alan and Embrilynn LeeAnne, of Wellsville; great-nephew, Brayden, of Wellsville; special friend, Carl Romaker, of Mexico; in addition to several aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mardel Harlan and great-grandmother, Elizabeth Christian.
