Rhonda Jean (Barker) Taylor-Haney

May 24, 1958 ~ March 28, 2018 (age 59)

            Rhonda Jean Taylor-Haney, 59, of Middletown, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri. 

            Rhonda was born May 24, 1958 in Wellsville, Missouri, a daughter of Clarence Clifford and Wanda Elaine (Stuart) Barker. 

            She was a 1976 graduate of Wellsville-Middletown R-1 High School.  Rhonda continued her education at Truman State University in Kirksville for 2 years.  She then returned to Mexico and received her Cosmetology Degree. 

            On June 30, 1979 at the home of her parents in Wellsville, Missouri, she married Dennis George Taylor.  They were the parents of a son, Clifford Dennis.  She then married Ronald Carl Haney on September 18, 1996, in Suwanee, Georgia.  He preceded her in death on May 11, 2017.

            She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Montgomery City, where she had taught Vacation Bible School.  Rhonda had lived at her present home in Middletown since 2006.  Prior to that, she lived in the state of Georgia for over 20 years. 

            Rhonda was employed by Montgomery County as the 911 Mapping Coordinator for over 10 years.  Before that, she had worked for the Montgomery City Post Office for 2 years and the Post Office in Georgia for 6 years. 

            Rhonda was an artist and painted horses, castles and landscapes.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing and crafting with her grandkids.  Rhonda liked riding her bike and loved her animals.  She enjoyed riding with the grandchildren on the go cart.  Rhonda’s pride and joy was her son and his family. 

            Rhonda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Clifford Dennis and Katie Taylor, of Middletown; grandchildren, Clifford Elijah Taylor and Natalie Marie Taylor, of Middletown; mother, Wanda Elaine Barker, of Wellsville; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Elaine and Roger Meadows, of Wellsville; niece, Grace Barker Meadows, of Wellsville; nephew, Patrick Lee Meadows, of Montgomery City; cousins, Una and David Stephens, of Middletown, Darrell and Kristi Stuart, of Mexico, Linda Marie (Stuart) and Dennis Doss, of Columbia and Dale Lee Stuart, of Wellsville and the father of her son, Dennis George Taylor, of Alton, Illinois.

            She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Clifford Barker and husband, Ronald Carl Haney.

            Visitation was held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.

            Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the funeral home.  Rev. John Foster officiated.

            Burial was in the Wellsville Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were Patrick Meadows, Paul Oliver, Mike Roesner, Lona Starks, Adam Stephens and Darryl Stuart.  Honorary pallbearer was Grace Meadows.
