Vivian Ann (Sheets) Stuart

June 13, 1949 ~ May 28, 2018 (age 68)

            Vivian Ann “Annie” Stuart, 68, of Wellsville, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Audrain in Mexico, Missouri.

            Mrs. Stuart was born June 13, 1949 in Mineola, Missouri, a daughter of Elmer Otto and Della Marie (Cash) Sheets.

            On March 29, 1966 in Wellsville, Missouri, she married James Lee “Jimmy” Stuart, sharing over 45 years together.  He preceded her in death on September 29, 2011.

            Annie had lived in Wellsville most all of her life.  Since February 2016, she had made her home with her sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Alvin Chalfant. 

            She had been employed at Continental Bag as a seamstress, working as a supervisor from 1989-2012 in the department that made women’s apparel.  From 1972-1985, Annie had worked at Swingmaster Garment Factory in Wellsville.

            Annie enjoyed crafts of all kinds, especially sewing and making quilts.  She also liked camping and hunting with Jimmy.  More than anything, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her family.

            Annie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lori Ann and Michael Tate, of New Florence; son and daughter-in-law, James Lee “Jamie” and Grace Stuart, of Caulfield; grandchildren, Michelle Renee Pursifull and Colton Steele, of Wellsville, Casey James Pursifull, of Wellsville, James Michael Stuart, of Dixon and Matthew Dale Stuart and Mark Lynn Stuart, of Caulfield; step grandson, Larry Williams and wife, Jessica, of Martinsburg; great-grandchildren, Nikolas Donovan James Crider, Allee Rose Tagg, Aubry Jane Tagg, Jonathan Cole Tagg and Maudie Mae Stuart; four step-great grandchildren, Benjamen Wayne Williams, Autumn Nicole Williams, Keegan Alan Williams and Hunter Dean Williams, of Martinsburg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ava Florence and Billy Morris, of Wellsville and Linda Sue and Alvin Chalfant, of Wellsville; sister-in-law, Betty Woodson, of Fulton; step-brothers and sisters, Sandra Smith, John Carpenter, Judy Carpenter, Tom Higgenbotham, Debbie Barnhill, Tim Higgenbotham, Terry Higgenbotham, Barb Jones and Tony Higgenbotham; in addition to several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

            She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee “Jimmy” Stuart; parents, Elmer and Della Sheets, sisters, Edith Marie Cook, Nora Pauline Durham and Mary Viola Christian; brothers, Dale Edward Sheets, James Otto Sheets and Larry Junior Sheets and an infant brother; step-mother, Phyllis Sheets; step-sister, Pam Carpenter and sister-in-law, Shirley Mae Moore.

            Visitation was held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2018 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.

            Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the funeral home.  Rev. Frank Welch officiated.

            Burial was in the Wellsville Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were Chris Chalfant, Casey Pursifull, Gary Pursifull, Colton Steele, Ricky Tagg and Allen Tarrants.  Honorary pallbearers were Jayden Chalfant, Nikolas Crider, Ada Donovan, Kayden Pursifull, Chance Smith, Allee Tagg, Aubry Tagg, Cole Tagg and Myla Woltman.
