Anna Mae Hammond, 95, of Middletown, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at St. Andrew's at New Florence in New Florence, Missouri.

Mrs. Hammond was born January 19, 1923 in Kansas City, Missouri, a daughter of Thomas Burnett and Frances Mary (Powell) Burton.

On December 2, 1977 in Clayton, Missouri, she married Herbert Alfred Hammond, sharing over 40 years together. Anna and Herbert had lived in Middletown for the past 30 years and in Overland prior to that. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2018.

Anna had worked at Schnucks as the Assistant Manager in the Restaurant for over 12 years. She also had been employed at the Yacht Club of St. Louis and Howard Johnson's Restaurant in St. Charles. Anna and Herb had worked for Tinsley Amusement for 6 years, traveling across the United States, working multiple jobs with the carnival.

She was a former member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary in Wellsville. Anna was also an active volunteer for We Care Food Pantry in Montgomery City for many years.

Anna enjoyed piecing quilt tops. She also liked gardening and canning.

Anna is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ralph Ronald "Ronnie" and Patricia Fehr, of Troy; step-children, Roy Lee Hammond, of Farmington and Janet Lee Malone and husband, Larry, of Stony Hill; grandchildren, John, Brian, Tad and Steve Fehr.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert Alfred Hammond; sisters, Cora Marie Norton, Alma Lee "Toppy" Hackman and Mildred Lorene Parks; brother, Arnold Thomas "Sunny" Burton and brothers-in-law, Edward Floyd Parks and Alvia Arlindo Norton.

Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Rev. Ralph Williams officiated.

Burial was in the Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were Cody Burton, Earl Burton, John Fehr, Tad Fehr, Aaron Gilbert and Travis Lee.

Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday, at the funeral home.
