Anna Mary "Ann" Spires, 90, of Wellsville, passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Mrs. Spires was born January 5, 1929 in Creve Coeur, Missouri, a daughter of Tolman Cotton and Wilma Irene (Sweazea) Potter.

On June 9, 1946 at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Truxton, Missouri, she married Roscoe Conklin "R.C." Spires, Jr. They shared over 67 years of marriage together before he preceded her in death on November 24, 2013.

Ann and R.C. had lived in Truxton on their farm, before moving to Wellsville in February of 1989.

She was a homemaker and housewife. In earlier years, Ann had worked as a waitress at Maggie's Café in Bellflower and Carol's Boutique in Montgomery City.

Ann was a member of the United Methodist-Presbyterian Church in Wellsville. While living in Truxton, she was a Sunday School Teacher at Grace Church.

Ann was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She enjoyed reading Danielle Steele books, going shopping and working with her flowers.

Ann is survived by her son, Darryl Neal Spires, of Wellsville; three grandchildren, Shane Ronald Spires, of St. Charles, Ashlea Elisabeth Chesebrough and husband, TJ, of St. Peters and Tina Marie Hall, of Hannibal and two great-grandchildren, Paige Nicole Hall, of Palm Coast, Florida and Haiden James Chesebrough, of St. Peters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roscoe Conklin "R.C." Spires; son, Ronald Eugene "Ronnie" Spires; grandson, Shad Nathan Spires; brother, Robert Eugene "Bobby" Potter and niece, Denise Hepler.

Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Rev. James Bridges officiated. Serving as organist was Cleta Mertz. Soloist was Marty Swayze.

Burial was in Zion Cemetery in Truxton, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were Don Fleener, Ron Fleener, Jackson Hepler, Greg Potter, Shane Spires and Mike Whitman.

Visitation was held from 12:00 noon until the time of service, Saturday, at the funeral home.
