Arthur Edwin Kleinsorge, 83, of Mexico, passed away at 2:27 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at SSM Health – St. Mary's Hospital Audrain in Mexico, Missouri.

Arthur was born August 31, 1932, in Wellsville, Missouri, a son of Edwin Herman and Clara Lillie (Plettenberg) Kleinsorge.

He was a 1950 graduate of Wellsville High School.

On December 22, 1956, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Wellsville, he married Betty Josephine Davidson. They celebrated over 59 years of marriage together and were the parents of five children.

Arthur and Betty have lived in Mexico since 1964.

He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was baptized on September 11, 1932 and confirmed on June 9, 1946.

Arthur had been employed at Carroll Motor Company as a mechanic for over 30 years.

He was an avid outdoorsman and really enjoyed hunting deer, quail and turkey. Arthur especially loved his bird dogs. When he wasn't hunting, he was snagging or trout line fishing. He also enjoyed putting out a large garden every spring much to his children's dismay. More than anything, Arthur loved spending time with his family.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Betty Kleinsorge, of the home in Mexico; with his beloved dog Cricket, his children, Janice Kleinsorge, Mike (Robin) Kleinsorge, Robert (Cathy) Kleinsorge and Laura (Kevin) Cash, all of Mexico; "adopted daughter," Brenda Hickman, of Mexico; grandchildren and their spouses, Michael (Justine) Kleinsorge, Justin (Erin) Clifford, Bobby (Kamber) Kleinsorge, Tori (Joe) Blackburn, Jesse (Kelli) Cash, Randy Cash and fiancée, Jessica, Candiss (Justin) Day, Christine (Brian) Schremp and Joshua (Brittany) Curry; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Erma Rosalie Sanders, of Topeka, Kansas; brother, Alvin Herman Kleinsorge, of Columbia; in addition to nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Arthur Wayne Kleinsorge; parents, Edwin and Clara Kleinsorge; sister, Juanita Clara Freie and father and mother-in-law, Joe and Wesley Davidson.

Visitation was held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.

Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 1, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Wellsville. Rev. Keith Clow officiated. Serving as organist was Eldora Lowry.

Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Wellsville. Serving as pallbearers were his grandsons, Joe Blackburn, Justin Day, Bobby Kleinsorge, Michael Kleinsorge, Brian Schremp and nephew, Kevin Kleinsorge.
