Barbara Ann Dubbert, beloved wife, sister, friend, aunt and great-aunt, sadly left our world on June 12, 2024, after a life richly lived in service and kindness. Born June 3, 1951 in Hannibal, Missouri to Victor and Marjorie Dubbert. Barbara earned a Bachelor's Degree in Science from the University of Missouri, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Louis University.

Barbara began her nursing career at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis before moving to Oregon, where she worked at Legacy Emanuel Hospital and for LifeFlight in Portland until retiring in 2018. A true pioneer, Barbara was one of the earliest flight nurses with Portland's LifeFlight network, treating critically ill and injured patients for many years. Though she was always modest about it, Barbara was proud of her nursing career and of the many patients she helped and cared for, and of her Missouri farm girl roots. Over the course of her career, Barbara earned many accolades for her work as well as certifications as a Critical Care Nurse (CFRN), a Certified Flight Nurse (CFN), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
instructor.

Barbara was known for her infectious and beautiful smile. She loved to laugh at a good joke (and sometimes a bad one). She loved visiting with her family and dear friends and making new ones, and those who knew her loved her right back. Barbara loved reading (mostly mystery novels), gardening, antiques, quilting, and travel. She especially loved visiting the beautiful Oregon coast.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Marjorie. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Eric Berggren of Gresham, Oregon; her brother, Robert and sister-in-law Kerry Dubbert, of Laddonia, Missouri; her sister- in-law and brother-in-law, Lisa and Mike Joner, of Spanish Fork, Utah; nephews, Jason Toalson and Cameron Dubbert, both of Columbia, Missouri and Michael Joner of Loveland, Ohio, nieces Megan Nomiyama of Bellevue, Nebraska and Michelle of Mapleton, Utah; and twelve grand-nephews and nieces.

Barbara will be laid to rest in a private family interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Martinsburg, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Association, Parkinson's Resources of Oregon foundation, the Michael J. Fox Foundation, and the Oregon (or local) Humane Society.
