Barbara Jean Welschmeyer, 69, of Martinsburg, passed away on Monday October 11, 2021, at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 18, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg with Fr. Philip Kane officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Myers Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Jean was born September 28, 1952, in Mexico, MO.  She was the daughter of Alfred and Mary (Isenmann) Hicks. She married Darrell Welschmeyer on October 20, 2012.

Jean was a licensed nurse and worked at various facilities providing care for nearly 20 years. She loved being with family and treasured her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Eric Jones (Mary), Nacogdoches, TX, and Raymond Wilson, of Illinois; one sister Sharon Hanson (Donald), of Laddonia; three grandchildren, Kaden Wilson, Isaac Jones, and Andersyn Jones; and her mother-in-law, Eunice Welschmeyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law, Stephen Welschmeyer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Catholic School Trust Fund, St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, or the charity of the donor's choice. They may be sent in care of Myers Funeral Home, 203 E. Bates Street, Wellsville, MO 63384.
