Betty Lou Hollensteiner passed away peacefully at the Wellsville Health Care Center in Wellsville, Missouri on September 8, 2025, at the age of 89.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Noon on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the Community Center in Middletown, Missouri following the graveside service.

Betty was born April 10, 1936, in Buell, Missouri to Roy Elmer White and Goldie Marie (Seal) White. She was raised by her uncle Emmett Seal and aunt Katherine Jones. On June 5, 1959, Betty was united in marriage to Clarence "Joe" Hollensteiner by Reverend Homer Arendall in Wellsville, Missouri. They were married for 57 years and had one son Howard Lee Hollensteiner. They made their home on a farm in rural Wellsville, where they lived for 40 years before retiring and moving to town in 2002.

Betty was a wife and homemaker. They raised pigs and chickens and always had a large garden which always included lots of tomatoes, one of her favorite things. Betty enjoyed fishing, especially for big bluegill, quilting, crocheting doilies, and doing beautiful embroidery work. She also liked having a pretty flower bed. She especially loved Joe's rose garden.

Survivors include her son Howard and wife Karen Hollensteiner of Montgomery City; and one sister Karen Watts of Harrison, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Hollensteiner; her parents; her Uncle Emmett Seal; her Aunt Katherine Jones; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene White, John White, Bill White and wife Geneva, Jack White and wife Joyce; sisters and brothers-in-law, Leah Smith and husband Loyd, Melba Burch and husband Carl, Barbara (Bobbi) White and Mary Catherine White; and one infant brother.
