Betty Lou Woodson, 76, of Middletown, passed away at 4:00 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2016 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Mrs. Woodson was born February 16, 1940, at her home in rural Middletown, a daughter of Harry Willard and Faye Janet (Ankrom) McCoy.

She was a 1958 graduate of Wellsville-Middletown R-1 High School.

On April 18, 1959, in Mexico, Missouri, she married Robert Eugene "Bob" Woodson. Betty Lou and Bob celebrated 57 years of marriage this year.

Betty Lou was a homemaker and a housewife. In earlier years, she had gone to cosmetology school in Moberly where she became a beautician.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Middletown.

Betty Lou enjoyed gardening, canning and was an excellent cook and baker. She liked sewing, making a lot of her daughter's clothes when they were younger. Betty Lou also enjoyed quilting. She also liked to fish, loved horses and enjoyed watching the Kentucky Derby. Betty Lou was a big NASCAR fan, Carl Edwards being her favorite driver. She loved her Scottie dogs, Duncan and Toto. Betty Lou especially loved her grandchildren.

Betty Lou is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Woodson, of the home in Middletown; daughters, Shelly Lea Groteluschen and husband, John, of Montgomery City and Jill Ann May, of Seminole, Florida; grandchildren, Lindsay Nicole Brandenburg, of Montgomery City, Tanner Wade Brandenburg, of Columbia, Kade Allen May, of Mexico and Kelsey Renee May, of Seminole, Florida; great-grandson, Nash Wade Brandenburg, of Montgomery City; sisters and brothers and their spouses, Sue and Carl Berry, of New Port Richey, Florida, Dorsey "Moe" and Linda McCoy, of Sedalia, Charles "Charlie" and Carolyn McCoy, of Wellsville, Judy and Donald Wood, of Hallsville and Debbie Sandman, of Oak Grove; mother-in-law, Wilma Woodson, of Middletown; sister-in-law, Joyce Gerdeman, of Middletown; brother-in-law, Harold "Chee" Woodson and wife, Michelle, of Columbia; in addition to several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Faye McCoy; daughters, Brenda Sue Woodson and Susan Renee Woodson and father-in-law, Willard Woodson.

Memorial services were at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Myers Funeral Home in Middletown. Rev. William Thompson officiated.

Visitation was held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
