Carla Jo Arens, 63, of Wellsville, passed away at 4:28 a.m. Wednesday August 9, 2023, at Boone Hospital in Columbia.
Memorial services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday August 19, 2023 , at Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
All are invited to a meal following the service at Grace Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in Wellsville.
Carla was born on December 21, 1959, in Mexico. She was the daughter of Elmer Lee and Elizabeth May (Huff) Stuart. On September 18, 1993, in Wellsville, she married Mike Arens who survives.
Carla recently retired from housekeeping at the Montgomery County Courthouse after around 12 years of service there. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Wellsville. She is a past vice president of the Wellsville Jaycees. She enjoyed playing slow pitch softball, bowling, listening to music, vegetable and flower gardening, baking and canning, and fishing and camping. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Mike, survivors include, two daughters, Heather Holmes (Jesse), of Montgomery City, and Jessica Arens, of Wellsville; one sister, Charlotte Senevey, of Wellsville; one brother in law, Steve Maskey, Wellsville; one sister in law, Donna Kay Stuart, of Wellsville; four grandchildren, Jastin Stuart, of Montgomery City, Dawson Arens, of Wellsville, Karley Jo Arens, of Wellsville, and Eli Griesbauer, of Wellsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Donna Lee Maskey, and Diana Sue Stuart; and one brother, Elmer "Shorty" Stuart.
Memorials may be given to the Helen Reagen Cancer fund. They may be sent in care of Myers Funeral Home, 203 E. Bates Street, Wellsville, MO 63384.
