Carole Canterbury, 81, of Wellsville, passed away Monday August 14, 2023, at Boone Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday August 18, 2023, at Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Burial will follow in the Wellsville Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Carole was born July 1, 1942, in Mexico. She was the daughter of Lonnie and Agatha (Hoepf) Kelch. On April 2, 1961, in Martinsburg, she married Joe Canterbury who preceded her in death on June 6, 2019.

Carole was a beautician. She worked for a few years in St. Louis, then for several years at Jean Franc Salon in Wellsville. She later worked the farm with her husband.

She was a graduate of Montgomery County High School where she played basketball. She had a great deal of pride in her school. She bled Royal Blue. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Joe. Together they visited all 50 states in addition to outside the US to Mexico and Canada. Their favorite trips were to Alaska.

Survivors include one son, Clint Canterbury (Lynette), of Mexico; one daughter, Misty Richardson (James), of Winnsboro, Louisiana; three sisters, Kay Meyers (Carl), of Maryville, Tennessee, Connie Kelch, of Shamrock, and Bonnie Huenefeld (Ronny), of Danville, Missouri; two grandchildren, Bryan Richardson, and Casey Richardson (Alyssa), of Winnsboro; and two great-grandchildren, Maddilyn Kate, and Josie, both of Winnsboro.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and one niece, Melissa Foster Bextermueller.
