Charles Dewitt "Charlie" Andrews, 87, of Buell, passed away at 7:47 p.m., Sunday, January 14, 2018 at New Florence Nursing & Care Center in New Florence, Missouri.

Mr. Andrews was born July 11, 1930 in Buell, Missouri, a son of Francis Dewitt and Sylvia Marie (Whithaus) Andrews.

Charlie served his country in the United States Army entering on February 6, 1952 and being honorably discharged on February 5, 1954, serving during the Korean War.

On October 12, 1954, in Hermann, Missouri, he married the love of his life, Martha Lou Cope. They celebrated over 63 years of marriage together before she preceded him in death on February 12, 2017.

Charlie had lived in Buell all of his life. He was the owner and operator of Dewitt's Auto Sales for many years.

He was a member of the N.R.A., National Rifle Association.

Charlie was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying deer hunting, both with his gun and bow. He loved to fish, and especially liked setting trotlines at Loutre River and Mark Twain Lake, primarily catching flatheads. Charlie loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. He also liked to read, especially Louis L'Amour books. Charlie also enjoyed gardening and woodworking and was an avid gun collector.

Charlie is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Charles and Angela Rose (Shramek) Andrews, of Middletown and Jeffrey Brent and Rose Luanne (Hendricks) Andrews, of Buell; five grandchildren, Gregory Michael Andrews and wife, Morgan Danielle (Hauk), of Moscow Mills, Bethany Michelle Andrews, of Topeka, Kansas, Emily Rose Andrews, of Middletown and Jacob Brent Andrews and Jared Boyd Andrews, of Buell; great-grandson, Landon Wayne Dewitt Andrews, of Montgomery City and niece, Cindy Rittman, of Columbia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha Lou Andrews and sister, Shirley Rittman.

Funeral services were at 12:00 noon, Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Rev. Kim Boone officiated.

Burial was in Bellflower Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Greg Andrews, Jared Andrews, Wayne Andrews, Kenny Coil, Steve Davis and Dorsey Stotler. Honorary pallbearers were Bethany Andrews, Emily Andrews, Jake Andrews, Floyd Andrews, Dale Davis and Bob Woodson.

Missouri Military Funeral Honors folded and presented the United States Flag to his sons.

Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, Thursday, at the funeral home.
