Dewayne N. Dawson, 79, from Holts Summit passed away Monday August 12, 2024, at his home.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Harvest Time Ministries, 100 Chet Jac Dr., Holts Summit, MO 65043.

Dewayne was born January 7, 1945, in Brown Spur Arkansas. He was the son of Clarence and Ida Mae (Robinson) Dawson. On August 22, 1982 he married Shirley Jones in Jonesburg Missouri who survives at the home. He has also been previously married to Judy Dawson.

Dewayne began his career at McDonnell Aircraft Corporation in St. Louis before proudly serving in the Navy. His professional journey took him across several states and various roles. He spent many years working for Nickerson Farms Restaurant across Missouri, managed a restaurant and bar for a hotel in Kansas, and ran a restaurant in Nebraska. Upon returning to Missouri, Dewayne started a fulfilling 20-year career with the Department of Corrections, where he made significant contributions until his retirement.

Even after retiring, Dewayne's passion for staying active led him to work at Lowe's in Jefferson City, where he enjoyed helping customers and sharing his extensive knowledge.

In addition to his wife Shirley, survivors include three daughters Brenda McLaughlin (Austin) of Bowie, Texas, Tamera Walton of New Bloomfield, and Amanda Booloodian (Michael) of Columbia; 4 grandchildren Kelsey McLaughlin, Andrew McLaughlin, Krystal Crider and Riley Thomas; 2 great grandchildren Abriana Crider and Bardo Crider; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clarence Dawson and James Dawson; and one son, Timothy C. Dawson.
