Donald Ray "Duck" Browning, 67, of Montgomery City, formerly of Wellsville, passed away at 6:45 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital – Audrain in Mexico, Missouri.

Duck was born June 3, 1949, in Farber, Missouri, a son of Emma Elizabeth Hull.

He served his country in the United States Army entering on June 30, 1966 and being honorably discharged on June 10, 1969, serving in the Vietnam War. Duck was the recipient of the Vietnam Service Medal.

Duck had been married to Sharon Kay Kaufman and had lived in Wellsville most all of his life until moving to Montgomery City 2 years ago.

He had worked for Union Pacific Railroad for several years.

Duck was a member of the Wellsville V.F.W. Post 3056.

He loved drinking beer. Duck always liked working on cars and had even rebuilt a 1956 Chevy in prior years. He enjoyed carpentry work and tinkering with building stuff.

Duck is survived by his sisters and brother-in-law, Audrey Geraldine "Jerry" Cullom, of Warrenton, Virginia Louise "Ginger" Morgan, of Montgomery City, Shirley Jean "Susie" Browning and Charles Thompson, of Martinsburg, Elizabeth Ann "Betty" and Donald Monnig, of Pacific, Sylvia Lee Young, of Montgomery City and Alice Faye Coffelt, of Yukon, Oklahoma and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Elizabeth Burts; step-father, Marion Louis Burts Sr.; maternal grandparents, Tom and Nannie Hull; brother, Marion Louis "Chub" Burts Jr.; sister, Della Mae Browning; nephews, Darren Dwayne Sheets, Damon Lee Sheets and William Randy Cullom and great-nephew, Kenneth Eugene "JR" Burch.

Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Officiating was Sheila Nutter.

Visitation was held from 12:00 noon until the time of service, Sunday, at the funeral home.

Burial was in the Wellsville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Kenny Gene Burch, Glen May, Jason Morgan, Colby Pitzer, Brent Sheets and Howard Steele.

Full Military Honors were provided by the Wellsville V.F.W. Post 3056. Missouri Military Funeral Honors Detail Team folded and presented the United States Flag.
