Donna Sue Kombrink, 81, formerly of Middletown, passed away Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Villages of St. Peters, in St. Peters, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2025, at Myers Funeral Home in Middletown. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 – 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Donna was born in Mexico, Missouri on June 6, 1943. She was the daughter of Murray and Frances (Jarboe) Hardesty. On March 8, 1968, she married LeRoy Kombrink, who preceded her in death on February 17, 2008.
In addition to being a farm wife and mother, Donna worked as an office manager for several years at Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville and Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, always contributing her skills with dedication.
A lifelong supporter of her community, Donna was an active member of the GFWC Harmony Women's Club and served as the Treasurer of the Middletown Community Center for over 30 years. For many years, she enjoyed working with young members of the Middletown Meddlers 4-H club by teaching sewing and horticulture skills to the next generation.
Donna's love for the earth was evident in her passion for gardening, whether it was cultivating vegetables or growing beautiful flowers. She also spent countless hours sewing and was known for her wonderful cooking. Above all, Donna cherished time spent with her granddaughters and extended family, always making them feel loved and supported.
Donna attended Middletown Christian Church, and her faith guided her throughout her life. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her.
Survivors include one son, David Kombrink (Staci), of St. Charles, MO; one daughter, Dana Cook (Tom), of Benton, AR; one brother, Murray Lee Hardesty (Sue), of Boonville, MO; one sister-in-law, Shirley Brauer, of Mexico, MO; two granddaughters, Emma Kombrink and Lauren Cook; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her husband LeRoy, she was preceded in death by her parents, Murray and Frances; her mother and father-in-law, Ben and Ella Kombrink, one brother, Howard Wayne Hardesty; one sister-in-law, Joyce Hardesty; one brother-in-law, Jerry Brauer; and two nephews Scott Hardesty, and Brian Brauer.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Middletown Community Center, Middletown Christian Church, or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund. They may be sent in care of Myers Funeral Home, 203 E. Bates Street, Wellsville, MO 63384.
