Doris Marie Quamby, 84, of rural Wellsville, passed away at 2:50 a.m., Thursday, July 20, 2017 at New Florence Nursing and Care Center in New Florence, Missouri.

Mrs. Quamby was born August 20, 1932 in Dardenne, Missouri, a daughter of Wilbert Charles and Katherine Elizabeth (Hembrock) Orf.

On June 26, 1966, in Wentzville, Missouri, she married Donald John Quamby Sr. They celebrated over 51 years of marriage together and had lived on their farm since they were married.

Doris was a homemaker and farm wife.

She was a former member of Appling Community Club and the Quilt Club in Montgomery City.

Doris enjoyed quilting and sewing.

Doris is survived by her husband, Donald John Quamby Sr., of the home in rural Wellsville; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia Judith "Ginny" and Ron Cowell, of Fulton; son, Donald John "Don" Quamby Jr., of Wellsville; grandsons, William Paul Cowell and wife, Julia, of Concordia and Jonathan Loren Cowell, serving in the U.S. Army in Vicenza, Italy and wife, Kay; six great-grandchildren; sisters and brother and spouses, Patsy Noack, of Wentzville, Kay and Jim Pound, of Mexico, Michael and Arlene Orf, of Foristell, Tessy and Charlie Boling, of Wentzville and Judy Doering, of Wentzville; brother-in-law, Larry Stahlschmidt, of St. Charles; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Walker, of Martinsburg; in addition to several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Leanne Stahlschmidt.

Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Rev. Dan Sites officiated. Soloist was her grandson, William Cowell.

Burial was in the Wellsville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were William Cowell, Chris Stahlschmidt, Bryan Sprock, Tom Doering, Bryan Muenks and Rodney Scott. Honorary pallbearer was Jonathan Cowell.

Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions were suggested to the Wellsville Cemetery Association or New Florence Nursing and Care Center "Activities Department" c/o Myers Funeral Home, 203 East Bates Street, Wellsville, MO 63384.
