Dorothy Mae Jennings Coil, 96, of San Andreas, California, formerly of Wellsville, entered into rest March 22, 2019 in Jackson, California.

Mrs. Coil was born April 27, 1922 in Wellsville, Missouri, the only child of Emuel Grant Bentley and Clara Aretta (Cottlander) Bentley.

She married Paul Elwyn Jennings and he preceded her in death on January 15, 1945 while serving in World War II, leaving her a young widow with their son, James.

Dorothy then married Hubert Lee Coil on March 2, 1946 in Mexico, Missouri. They were the parents of three children, William, Edward and Aretta. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2000.

She and Hubert moved their family to California in 1956. During her time in California, she owned a restaurant in San Francisco and in West Point, California. Dorothy and Hubert returned to Missouri in 1982, where she remained until 2012, moving back to California at the age of 90.

Dorothy was an avid bingo player. She also enjoyed going to the casino anytime, even until the end.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, James Jennings and wife, Millie and William Coil, of Copperopolis, California; daughter, Aretta Watson and partner, Chuck Rush, of San Andreas, California; daughter-in-law, Connie Coil, of Columbia; in addition to five grandsons, three granddaughters and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Paul Jennings and Hubert Coil; son, Edward Coil; daughter-in-law, Paula Coil and son-in-law, Gary Watson.

Graveside services were at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Wellsville Cemetery. Father Bill Debo officiated.

Services were under the direction of the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.
