Enos Dean Jarboe, known as "DJ" to friends and family, 91, of Chesterfield, formerly of Middletown, died Monday, June 19, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.

Mr. Jarboe was born February 17, 1926 in Middletown, Missouri, a son of William Enos and Dorothy Lee (Kirks) Jarboe.

Dean served his country in the United States Army entering on August 17, 1944 and was honorably discharged on November 5, 1946, serving in World War II. He was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon and Lapel Button. Dean enlisted in the Corps of Engineers-Reserve on September 7, 1946 and was honorably discharged on September 6, 1949.

On May 26, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri he married Delores Leona "Dee" Montrey. They were the parents of 3 children. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2002. Dean later married Erika J. Fischer on April 28, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dean graduated from the University of Missouri with a BS in chemistry, taught chemistry for a few years, then got a research chemist position at Dennis Chemical in the early 1950's. Dean decided to start his own company in the late 1950's known as Plas Chem Corp. that specialized in high performance industrial coatings.

Dean also was involved in many other businesses throughout his life. He had a restaurant in the early 1970's known as Chili Gourmet, a Tennis club - Bath and Tennis Club (Ladue). Then he started another high-performance coatings company in 1979 with his two sons, Rod and Jeff that developed into a company with worldwide distribution. He purchased Bardenheier Winery (St. Louis) in 1985. The family sold these companies in 2001 and in 2002 started Replications Unlimited and, in 2004, Creative Polymers. Both companies are still active businesses and managed by the sons.
Dean's past time was playing tennis and raising horses down at his lakeside house at Foxboro Estates, Gerald MO.

Dean is survived by his second wife of 11 years, Erika Jarboe (nee: Fischer), of the home in Chesterfield; his sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney Dean and Regina Jarboe, and Jeffrey Jay and Connie Jarboe; daughter Deana Ann Jarboe, all of St. Louis; 6 grandchildren, Jerrod Jarboe and wife, Liz, Renee Jarboe, Jackson Jarboe, of St. Louis, Jonathan Jarboe and wife, Kristi, of Denver, Colorado, Olivia Summerhill and husband, Sam of Seattle, Washington and Jacqueline Jarboe, of the State of California and 4 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Ethan and Hayley Jarboe, of St. Louis and Harper Jarboe, of Denver, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Delores L. "Dee" (Montrey) Jarboe.

Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Myers Funeral Home in Middletown. Rev. Kim Boone officiated.

Burial was in the Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were Rod Jarboe, Jerrod Jarboe, Jackson Jarboe, Jim Dunn, Terry Pritchett and Lynn Steele.

Full Military Honors were provided by Wellsville VFW Post 3056. Missouri Military Funeral Honors folded and presented the United States Flag.

Visitation was held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 23, 2017 at the funeral home.
