A few years later, she married her first husband Sidney Fortus and enjoyed 23 years with him until he passed from Parkinson's disease in 1979. Erika has several dogs and many cats during her lifetime and when her last dog, Talei and her last cat, Bambi passed away, she decided to rescue one last cat named Millie, whom Erika loved very much and was her dedicated companion up until the day that Erika passed away.
Erika has many friends and family whom she loved. Some who preceded her in death and many who continued to love and support her every day. Especially helpful were her friends from Judevine Center and many close neighbors, who loved and watched over her every day, as well as her family.
Survivors include, Terry & Clea McElwee, Greg & Valerie Sadler & Family, Kevin Sadler and Ana Wallace, Scott & Emily Pardo & Family, Chrissy & Justin Laumeyer & Family, and Millie, her precious cat.
