Ethel P. Meadows, 96, of Martinsburg, passed away at 8:44 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024, at her home.

Graveside Services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Wellsville Cemetery in Wellsville with Pastor Glenn Forman officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday July 24, 2024, at Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.

Ethel was born on February 22, 1928, in Blue Jay Five, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Herschel Charles and Donna Faye (McKinney) Rakes. On March 10, 1944, she married William Avis Meadows who preceded her in death on February 21, 1980.

Ethel was a dedicated member of Friendship Baptist Church in Mexico. Ethel's faith was central to her life, and she found great joy in her church community. In her leisure time, Ethel pursued various hobbies with passion. She found relaxation and fulfillment in quilting and crocheting beautiful creations. Additionally, Ethel was an avid reader, finding solace and knowledge within the pages of her books.

Professionally, Ethel dedicated many years as a dietary supervisor at Richmond Memorial Hospital, where her kindness and diligence left a lasting impact.

Survivors include one son, Roger (Ruth) Meadows of Martinsburg and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Robert "Bobby" Meadows and Marvin Herschel Meadows.
