Gary Paul Regot, 84, of Middletown, passed away at 1:30 a.m., Thursday, June 29, 2017 at SSM Health St. Mary's – Audrain in Mexico, Missouri.
Mr. Regot was born December 6, 1932, in St. Charles, Missouri, a son of Alva Cisero and Catherine Elizabeth (Arens) Regot.
On September 16, 1977 in St. Charles, Missouri, he married Deanna Joyce (Hovis) Weekley. They shared over 39 years together. Gary and Deanna have lived in Middletown since 1979 and Gary had lived in St. Charles prior to that.
Gary had been an operating engineer with heavy equipment for Local 513 Union in Bridgton, where he was a member for over 50 years.
He was a member of the Middletown Baptist Church. Gary was also a member of Moose Lodge 1513 in St. Charles and Middletown Lions Club. He was the Democrat Committeeman for Montgomery County for several years.
Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising horses, and dirt track racing. He loved socializing and telling "big tale" stories.
Gary is survived by his wife, Deanna Joyce Regot, of Middletown; daughters, Wendy Gipson Sona, of Middletown, Jackie Wood, of Wellsville and Taunya Soles, of Warrenton; six grandchildren and spouses, Dude and Dana Gipson, of Troy, Spring and Sean Lynch, of Middletown, Tara and Trevor Calton, of Middletown, Phillip and Veronica Alberternst, of Warrenton, Bobby Alberternst and fiancée, Alexis Bayes, of Warrenton and Stephanie Alberternst, of Wellsville; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dean and Noni Regot, of St. Charles, Kenny Regot, of Troy and Donnie and Hazel Regot, of Niceville, Florida; a lifelong friend, Kenny Gipson, of St. Charles; 6 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Richard Playfair "Rick" Weekley Jr.; brothers and sisters, Alvie Regot, Bob Regot, Nancy Morris, Jimmy Regot, Betty Lou Regot, Chaauncey Regot, Douglas Regot, Bonnie Jean Regot, Joan Kathleen Regot and Patsy Jones and 3 brothers-in-law.
Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Middletown Baptist Church in Middletown. Rev. John Foster officiated.
Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Alberternst, Phillip Lee Alberternst, Hayden Calton, Trevor Calton, Dude Gipson, KJ Gipson, Kenny Gipson and Sean Lynch. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Regot III and Gabe Regot.
Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday, at the church.
Services were under the direction of the Myers Funeral Home in Middletown.
Memorial contributions were suggested to the Middletown Baptist Church c/o Myers Funeral Home, 203 East Bates Street, Wellsville, MO 63384.
