Harold Edward "Hap" Folta, 84, of Wellsville, passed away at 2:55 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2016 at his home.

Visitation was held from 4:00-8:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m., Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.

A Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Church of the Resurrection in Wellsville. Father Bill Debo and Deacon Ron Deimeke officiated. Serving as organist was Palmyra Dubbert. Cantor was Brenda Hale.

Burial was in the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, south of Wellsville. Serving as pallbearers were Pat Arens, Dave Benskin, Glenn May, Charlie Schafer, George Schafer and Richard Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Arens, Tom Arens, Bill Berry, Harold Debo and Dale Wilburn.

Full Military Honors were provided by the Wellsville V.F.W. Post 3056. Missouri Military Funeral Honors Detail Team folded and presented the U.S. Flag to his daughter, Kathy. Honor Guard was provided by American Legion Post 552.

Mr. Folta was born December 19, 1931 in Wellsville, Missouri, a son of Albert Joseph Sr. and Rena Blanche Craig Folta.

He served his country in the United States Army as a Corporal during the Korean War. He entered on October 7, 1949 and was honorably discharged on October 22, 1952. Hap was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal with 5 Bronze Stars and the United Nations Service Medal.

On January 16, 1954, at the Resurrection Catholic Church in Wellsville, Missouri, he married Shirley Jean Dunn. She preceded him in death on January 16, 1994. On October 25, 2003 at the Resurrection Catholic Church in Wellsville, he married Patricia Hensiek.

Hap lived in Wellsville all of his life. He had worked at the Wellsville Firebrick Company for over 35 years until he retired in July 1994, where he had worked as a batch buggy operator.

He was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Wellsville.

Hap was a member of the Wellsville V.F.W. Post 3056, where he served as past commander for numerous years, member of American Legion Post 552 in Martinsburg and Knights of Columbus Local 1270 in Martinsburg. He was a former member of the Wellsville Fire Department. In his younger years, Hap was very active in the Khoury League.

Hap enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed playing dominoes and any kind of cards.

Hap is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Harold Eugene "Butch" and Carylle Ann Folta, of Wellsville; daughter, Deborah Kathleen "Kathy" Fox, of Fulton; grandchildren, Sherie Beth Folta, of Knoxville, Tennessee, Adrienne Joy Bailey and husband, Aaron, of Union and Lisa Jane Fox, Leslie Jean Fox and Kory Lee Fox and wife, Amanda, of Fulton; great-grandchildren, Presstin Thomas Bailey, Morgan Joy Bailey and Reagan Marie Bailey, of Union and Emilia Kathleen Curran and Myla Summer Curran, of Fulton; step great-granddaughter, Allison Bailey Holshen, of St. Peters; brother and sister-in-law, Albert Joseph Jr. and Irene Folta, of Wellsville; sister, Iva Jean Benskin, of Wellsville; in addition to nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Jean Folta; sisters, Rosaliee Riefle and Dorothy Ann Johnson; brother, Henry Thomas "Bud" Folta; nephew, Ralph Thomas Folta and niece, Tammy Lea Benskin.
