Harold L. Morningstar, 80, of Middletown passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the Bellflower Community Center, 340 South Main Street Bellflower, MO.

Harold was born on January 21, 1945, in Eaton, Ohio, the son of Carl and Katherine (Howard) Morningstar. He was previously married to Susie Melling.

Harold was a proud veteran who served his country with honor. When he was younger, he was a dedicated member of the VFW and always carried a strong sense of patriotism.

Harold was deeply connected to his roots and cherished his Native American heritage. He loved spending time outdoors, whether it was fishing on a peaceful lake or hunting in the woods, where he found peace and joy. Above all, he was a loving and generous soul who would always lend a hand to those in need.

He found comfort and strength in religion. His children remember him as a forgiving soul who would always go out of his way to help others. Whether it was a family member in need or a stranger, he was the type of person who'd give the shirt off his back without hesitation. His willingness to lend a hand, no matter the situation, was just one of the many ways he showed how deeply he cared for those around him. Harold was a man who lived with purpose, kindness, and love in his heart. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know him.

Survivors include one son, Carl Morningstar (Katie) of Middletown; one daughter Jolene Gilbert (Michael) of Bellflower; seven grandchildren, Laura Melling, Mary Smith, Makayla Johnson, Harold Johnson, Cheyenne Everson, Jason Brown, Cherokee Johnson; 19 great grandchildren; one sister, Nola Morgan of New Paris, Ohio; his ex-wife Susie and her husband Lloyd.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carl Morningstar Jr., and Dale Morningstar; and three sisters Norma Lane, Betty Back, and Josie Morningstar.
