Irvin W. Kleinsorge, 95, of Fayette, formerly of Montgomery County, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Fayette Caring Center in Fayette, Missouri.

Mr. Kleinsorge was born October 4, 1924 in Montgomery County, Missouri, a son of William Henry and Clara Pauline (Deichmann) Kleinsorge.

He was a 1942 graduate of Montgomery County R-II High School.

Irvin served his county in the United States Army, entering on August 17, 1944 and being honorably discharged on December 24, 1947. He served during World War II and was wounded in the battle of Luzon March 28, 1945. Irvin earned the Combat Infantry Badge and was awarded a Purple Heart, American Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon.

Prior to being in Fayette, Irvin lived in Columbia for several years. He was born and raised in Montgomery County. Irvin was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He was a farmer.

Irvin is survived by his nieces, Carol (Henry) Barrow, of Glen Echo, Maryland and Wanda (Don) Vehlewald, of Kansas City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Hilda Barton.

Private Family Graveside Services were Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in rural Wellsville. Pastor Keith Clow officiated.

Services were under the direction of the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.
