Jeffery Allen Moore

Jeffery Allen Moore, 65, of Wellsville, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026.

Graveside services will be held Monday, August 10, 2026 at 6:15 p.m. at the Wellsville Cemetery with Rev. John Foster officiating.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Grace Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.

Jeffery was born on February 6, 1961 in Mexico, Missouri, the son of Henry and Ida (Calhoon) Moore. On October 15, 1994 in the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Calwood, he married Dori Wolfmeier, who survives.

Jeffery served in the United States Army. He graduated from Wellsville High School in 1979 and earned an Associates degree from Linn Tech. He was a man who believed in hard work, helping others, and putting his family first. From a young age, he was active in FFA and never lost his belief in the opportunities it gave young people. He was especially proud to watch Kelby follow that path, always encouraging him, helping with FFA projects, and always pushing him to do his very best. Jeffery also liked to help kids in 4-H. Jeffery grew up attending First Baptist Church in Wellsville and cared deeply about his community. He devoted many years to the Wellsville Fire Department, where he served as Captain. If the department needed something, Jeffery was there without hesitation. He was Johnny-on-the-spot Being a firefighter and EMT wasn't just something he did, it was something he truly loved. After a call, he would often talk about the people he had helped, how he was able to calm them during difficult moments, and how much it meant to him when someone simply thanked him for treating them with kindness. Jeffery was a hard worker and spent his life working a variety of jobs including farming, building apartments with Harby Construction in St. Louis, working as a security guard at the nuclear plant, serving as a private investigator with McDowell and Associates, operating a business selling rabbit equipment, and working for Oliver Farms. He helped charter the Wellsville Kiwanis Club, was a member of the Missouri State Rabbit Breeders Association, the Central Eastern Rabbit Breeders Association, the American Rabbit Breeders Association, and the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. In his spare time, Jeffery enjoyed fishing, hunting, and had a pulling tractor for a few years, He enjoyed tinkering and if something was broken, chances are he could fix it. Whether he was helping a neighbor, serving his community, or spending time with his family, Jeffery was happiest when he was busy doing something for someone else.

Survivors include his wife, Dori Moore of the home, one son, Kelby Moore (Emma Edwards) of Wellsville; two brothers, Henry Lee Moore of Windsor and Gerald Moore (Janet) of Warrensburg; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

Jeffery is preceded in death by his parents.
