Lena Esther Sartain Woodward, 89, of New Florence, passed away at 9:30 p.m., Wednesday Dec. 28, 2022, at New Florence Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday Jan. 2, 2023, at Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville, with Bro. Raymond Doussard officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery in rural Pike County.
Visitation will be Monday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Lena was born Oct. 24, 1933, in Pike County. She was the daughter of Otto and Ruth (Reese) Willis. On Nov. 29, 1952, she married William Ray Sartain who preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1991. On Nov. 8, 1993, she married Marion Woodward who preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1998.
Lena worked as a CNA at Elsberry Health Care Center for several years. She was a member of the Star Hope Baptist Church of Elsberry. She enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with family.
Survivors include one son, Kevin (Linda) Sartain, of Brookfield; one daughter, Karen Sartain, of Mexico; one sister, Imogene Eastman, of Louisiana, Mo.; five grandchildren, Angie (Scott) Poage, of Wellsville, Tim Kleinsorge, of Middletown, Shelly (Matt) Cooper, of Marceline, Kiley (Carl) Liebhart, of New Boston, and Cassie Sparks, of Marceline; and eleven great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Madelyn, and Garrett Poage, Gracie and Logan Liebhart, Payton and Breelyn Liebhart, Gabby and Adry Lodder, and Adalyn and Raiden Sparks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Charles Thomas Willis, Walter Kenneth Willis, Otto Major Willis, Orville Lewis Willis, and Garland Edward Willis; and two sisters, Wilma Marie Willis, and Clara Louise Willis.
Memorials may be given to the Siloam Cemetery. They may be sent in care of Myers Funeral Home, 203 E. Bates Street, Wellsville, MO 63384.
