Linda was born on December 24, 1944, in Decatur, IL, to Eugene and Ruby (Arney) Dobbs. While growing up, her family relocated to Tulsa, OK. It was there that she would meet the love of her life, Loren. On December 30, 1961, she married Ernest (Loren) Stroup, Jr., a United States Airman, and soon they were off to live in England and start their family.
While Loren was stationed overseas, their children, Annelisa and Ricky, were born in Mildenhall, England. Once they returned stateside, the family spent the next twenty years living at various Air Force bases across the United States. While Loren served his country, Linda took care of their family. She was a member of the NCO Wives Club, participated in the Vietnam POW/MIA bracelet public awareness campaign, Girl Scout troop leader, Cub Scout den mother, and an avid bowler.
After Loren's retirement in 1979, they moved to Missouri to be closer to Loren's parents.
As their family continued to grow, Linda spent much of her time enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and following their many activities.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Annelisa Goodman (fiance Steve Goshorn), Mexico; son, Ricky (Michelle) Stroup, Wellsville; grandchildren, Brianne (Jason) Beach, Brittany Bishop, Braden Stroup, and Brooke Stroup, all of Wellsville, and Rebekah Goodman (fiancé Tony Collins), St. Louis; and great-grandchildren, Aiden, Alyssa, and Ashlyn Beach and Josie Bishop, all of Wellsville.
She is also survived by sisters Imogene (Bob) Clymore and Nancy Fisher of Oklahoma; sister-in-law Pat Wadlow, Middletown; brother-in-law Gary (Kathleen) Stroup, Jefferson City; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and longtime family friends, Moon and Patti Mullins of Merced, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren in August 2022; her parents; sister-in-law Bertha Kincaid; brother-in-law, Bill Kincaid; and nephew, Tommy Kincaid.
Memorials may be given to the Central Missouri Honor Flight. They may be sent in care of Myers Funeral Home, 203 E. Bates, Wellsville, MO 63384.
