Lona Gene Stephens-Starks, 30, of Middletown, passed away Tuesday June 28, 2022, at University Hospital in Columbia.

Lona gave the gift of life through organ donation.

Funeral services will be at 12 p.m., Tuesday July 5, 2022, at Myers Funeral Home with Rev. John Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Wellsville Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Lona was born August 5, 1991, in Mexico, the daughter of David and Una (Barker) Stephens. She was a 2010 graduate of Wellsville-Middletown R-1 High School, and also had studied at MACC.

Lona was a member of Middletown Baptist Church. She was an avid horse rider and competed in many horse shows. She loved animals, especially dogs. Her favorite was Krampus. More recently she enjoyed going on side-by-side trail rides and spending time with friends. Most of all she loved caring for and spending time with her children.

Survivors include her mother, Una Stephens, of Potosi; her spouse, Dustin Starks; her children, Isaac David Starks, Mia Nicole Starks, Macy Rayne Starks, and Jaylee Nora Irvin; one brother, Adam Stephens (Kayla), of Middletown; her paternal grandmother, Rosemary Dodd, of Laddonia; one nephew, Matthew Brennan; two nieces, Makalie Brennan, and Darleen Ann Stephens; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Stephens.

Memorials may be given to a fund for her children. They may be sent to Myers Funeral Home, 203 E. Bates, Wellsville, MO 63384.
