Louis Allen Starner, 75, of Montgomery City, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2020 at his home in Montgomery City.

Mr. Starner was born August 24, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of John William and Alice Katherine (Windsor) Starner.

On April 19, 2003 in Sedalia, Missouri, he married Daisy Lee Atterberry. They are the parents of a son, Cody.

Louis had been a truck driver for many years. He worked for JWK in Houstonia for several years. He then went to work for Bulk Express in Sedalia and then Oliver Trucking. Louis was the owner/operator of Landstar out of Jacksonville, Florida for many years.

He had attended the Baptist Church. Louis was a former member of the Elks Lodge.

Louis enjoyed camping, watching the news as well as Westerns, especially "Festus." He also liked going out to eat.

Louis is survived by his children, David (Kim) Starner, of Pittsfield, Illinois, Robert Eugene (Alicia) Starner, of Warrensburg, James William Starner, of Granite City, Illinois, Tammy Rene (Gaylan) Warnick, of Allerton, Iowa, Dawn Charlene Moss, of Centerville, Iowa, Cody Michael Starner, of Montgomery City and a special son, Loren Thomas, of LaPlata; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and special friend, Linda Blake, of Centerville, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Louis Allen Starner, Jr.; half-brother and two half-sisters.

ACelebration of Life Service was at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September5, 2020at Graham Cave State ParkShelter in Danville, Missouri.

Full Military Honors were provided by Wellsville VFW Post 3056. Missouri Military Funeral Honors folded and presented the United States Flag to his son.

Arrangements wereunder the direction of the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.
