Mary Frances Giger, 83, of Montgomery City, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis, Missouri, with her children by her side.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 1st at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 2nd at the funeral home. Rev. Jim Cline will officiate.

Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Wellsville. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Brandon Lawrence, Samantha Parker, Kayley Giger, Steven Ebers, Gavin Delozier, Cassidy Delozier and Mackenzie Reynolds. Honorary pallbearer will be her grandson, Dawson Doyle.

Mary was born September 27, 1937 in Mexico, Missouri, a daughter of Estell Arthur and Frances Lucille (Nation) Foster.

She was a 1956 graduate of Sophie Barat High School in South St. Louis, an all-girls school.

In 1960 at Holy Family Catholic Church in South St. Louis, she married Anthony Stewart Giger. They were the parents of three children, Chuck, Cindy and Dawn.

Mary had lived in Montgomery City since 2009. Prior to that, she lived in Mexico, St. Louis, the State of California and Wellsville.

She attended Reach Church in Montgomery City. Mary was a former member of Church of the Resurrection in Wellsville.

Mary worked various jobs throughout her life. She had been employed at Wellsville-Middletown R-1 School as a custodian. Mary had worked as a home health caregiver for several people around the Montgomery County area. She had also been a babysitter as well as a cook.

She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her plants. Mary was an Elvis fan and enjoyed listening to his music and watching his old movies. She liked to work crossword puzzles. Mary was an avid coffee drinker and could be found drinking it in the morning, at noon and even in the evenings and at night. More than anything, she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and sharing her time with her family.

Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles Anthony "Chuck" and Tammy Giger, of Montgomery City; daughters, Cynthia Lynn "Cindy" Delozier, of Montgomery City and Dawn Marie Giger and fiance' Steve Worsham, of Montgomery City; eight grandchildren and spouses, Brandon and Allison Lawrence, of Montgomery City, Samantha and David Parker, of Monticello, Florida, Kayley Giger, of Montgomery City, Steven and Samantha Ebers, of Martinsburg, Gavin Delozier and fiancée, Makayla Davis, of Mexico, Cassidy Delozier, of Montgomery City and Mackenzie Reynolds and Dawson Doyle, of Montgomery City; great-grandchildren, Bennett Lawrence, of Montgomery City and Owen Delozier, of Mexico; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph Edward "Joe" and Barbara Foster, of Wellsville; sister and brother-in-law, Rose Ellen and Ed Scheidle, Jr., of St. Louis; sister-in-law, Dixie Foster, of St. Ann; in addition to nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Estell and Frances Foster; brother, Charles Arthur Foster; nephew, Steven Todd Foster and niece, Melissa Jo Bextermueller.
