Mary Helen Yelton, 88, of Wellsville, passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 at Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville, where she had resided since June 18, 2013.
Mrs. Yelton was born June 11, 1930 in Linn, Missouri, a daughter of Hugh and Lottie Louise (Brown) Bogle.
On December 27, 1947 in Wellsville, Missouri, she married Merle Leonard Yelton. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2001.
Mary was a homemaker and a housewife.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Montgomery City.
Mary enjoyed walking, cooking and quilting. She also liked flower and vegetable gardening.
Mary is survived by her three children, Danny Dean Yelton and wife, Marie, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Brenda Joyce Donovan and husband, James, of Newcastle, Maine and Debra Jean "Debbie" Stevenson, of St. Charles; eight grandchildren, Shannon Dean Yelton, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Shaft Lamont Yelton, of Columbia, Shani and James Kreagor, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Wendy Dawn Crouch and Douglas James Donovan, of the State of Maine, Mary Christina "Christy" and Kenny Mayer, of St. Charles, Rebecca Joy and Don Duncan, of St. Louis and Benjamin Alan Stevenson, of St. Louis; several great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy McAllister, of the State of Oklahoma; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merle Leonard Yelton; son, Stephen Merle Yelton; brothers and sisters, Alex, Marvin, Gilbert, Lloyd, Lonnie, Pauline, Rosie, Mae, Thelma and Bernice.
Memorial services were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Rev. Cheri Griggs officiated.
Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday, at the funeral home.
Inurnment was in the Wellsville Cemetery.
