Matthew Alan "Matt" Leverett, 27, of Columbia, formerly of Middletown, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri.

Matt was born December 28, 1988, in Troy, Missouri, a son of William James "Bill" and Tamara Delores "Tammy" Barr Leverett.

He was a 2007 graduate of Wellsville-Middletown R-1 High School. Matt had attended Westwood College-Dupage in Woodridge, Illinois.

While living in Middletown, Matt attended the Silex Assembly of God Church.

He was a salesman for Kirby Vacuums. While working there, Matt was a top salesman winning trips to Las Vegas, Nascar and Tan Tara Resort at the Lake of the Ozarks. He had sold over 500 vacuums in one year.

Matt loved the outdoors, especially fishing, camping and float trips. He enjoyed computers and playing computer games. Matt loved animals.

Matt is survived by his parents, Bill and Tammy Leverett, of Middletown; brother and sister-in-law, Charles Enoch "Charlie" and April Dawn Leverett, of Columbia; sister and brother-in-law, Katie Scarlett and Carl Morningstar, of Middletown; paternal grandmother, Velma Sue "Susie" Leverett, of Middletown; nephew, Jason Brown, of Middletown; in addition to aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Alan James Leverett; maternal grandparents, Glen and Wanda Barr and uncle, Robert Allen "Bobby" Leverett.

Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the Myers Funeral Home in Middletown. Rev. James Skinner officiated.

Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were Glen Barr, Barry Leverett, Charlie Leverett, Josh Leverett, Carl Morningstar and Mike Shaw. Honorary pallbearers were Donnie Barr, Ralph Barr, Brad Leverett and Brian Leverett.

Visitation was held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Myers Funeral Home in Middletown.

Memorial contributions were suggested to Second Chance No Kill Animal Shelter c/o Myers Funeral Home, 203 East Bates Street, Wellsville, MO 63384.
