Melba Lorene Burch, 92, of Montgomery City, passed away at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday June 19, 2024, at St. Andrews of New Florence.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday July 6, 2024, at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Montgomery City with Rev. Kim Boone officiating.

Melba was born on March 18, 1932, in rural Montgomery County near Buell, Missouri. She was the daughter of Roy Elmer and Goldie Marie (Seal) White. On April 14, 1972, she married Charles Chester Stotler who preceded her in death on August 7, 1992. On February 10, 2001, she married Carl Henry Burch who survives.

Melba worked as a nurse aide for many years, first at the Jonesburg Nursing Home and later at the New Florence Care Center. She enjoyed playing Bingo, canning and traveling.

In addition to her husband Carl, survivors include one son, Dorsey Lee Stotler (Susan), of Montgomery City; one daughter, Kathryn "Kate" Burger (Keith), of Warrenton; two step sons, Carl Eugene "Gene" Burch (Dottie), of Montgomery City, and David Wayne Burch (Jill), of Montgomery City; six siblings, Betty Hollensteiner, of Wellsville, Keaton White, of Lebec, CA, Karen Watts, of Harrison, AR, Paul White, of Hoopa, CA, Jerry White, of Dickinson, ND, and Ray White, of Saint Joe, AR; 19 grandchildren, Amanda Nickerson, Kimberly Melo, Marsha Layton, Nicholas Stotler, Brandi Eastman, J.J. Stotler, Emily Stotler, Jessica Bryson, Jennifer List, Holly Stotler, Stacy Hadden, Cory Burch, Teresa Burch, Scott Burch, Christopher Burch, James Burch, Adam Burch, Tauna Spencer, and Jessie Spencer; and several great and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Joseph "Joe" Stotler, and John Chester "Chuck" Stotler; one step son, John Lloyd Burch; and 11 siblings, John White, Mary Katherine White, Gene White, Lelia Smith, Billy White, Jack White, Barbara White, Ted White, Pete White, Christe White, and Tom White.
