Mildred Gloria "Millie" Shaw, 82, of Middletown, passed away at 3:45 a.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at her home.

Mrs. Shaw was born August 21, 1933, in Hannibal, Missouri, a daughter of Enoch Arthur and Geneva (Rhodes) Tapley.

On April 2, 1949, in Bowling Green, Missouri, she married James Leroy "Jim" Shaw, Sr. They shared over 58 years together, before he preceded her in death on October 3, 2007.

Millie and Jim had lived in rural Middletown all of their married life. After Jim passed away, Millie moved into town.

She was a homemaker and housewife. Millie had worked at Bobbie Brooks Garment Factory in Vandalia as a seamstress.

Millie enjoyed cooking and reading. She liked watching television, especially "Little House on the Prairie", "The Walton's and "The Andy Griffith Show." Millie loved visiting and being around her family and friends.

Millie is survived by her three sons, James Leroy "Jamie" Shaw Jr. and wife, Diane, of Middletown, Michael Gene Shaw, of Middletown and Terry Dean Shaw and wife, Susan, of Hannibal; nine grandchildren and spouses, Timothy Shaw Marion and wife, Cheryl, of Imperial, Georgia Caroline "Carrie" Kepler, of St. Louis, Danielle Renee "Dani" Stone, of New Florence, Terry Dean "TJ" Shaw Jr., of Sanford, Florida, Tommy Arthur Shaw, of Middletown, Ashley Nicole Shaw, of Sanford, Florida, Amber Rose Clark and husband, Doug, of Jacksonville, Florida, Michael Eugene Shaw, of Middletown and Samantha Lynn Shaw, of Middletown; two step-grandchildren, Eric Nolan Mitchell and Emily Rebecca Mitchell, of Hannibal; eighteen great-grandchildren and sisters and brothers-in-law, Jackie and Gene Kauble, of Laddonia, Barbara Olds, of Centralia and Peggy Jo and Dale Perkins, of Columbia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Leroy Shaw Sr.; son, Enoch Arthur "Butch" Shaw; infant son, Tommy Joe Shaw; sister, Wanda Barr; brother, David Lee Tapley and brother-in-law, Dale Olds.

Funeral services were at 12:00 noon, Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Myers Funeral Home in Middletown. Rev. John Foster officiated. Serving as organist was Gena Cartee.

Burial was in Grandview Burial Park in Hannibal, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were JD Mitchell, Brian Olds, Dale Perkins Jr., Michael Shaw, Tim Shaw and Tommy Shaw. Honorary pallbearers were Glen Allen Barr, Ralph "Sonny" Barr and TJ Shaw.

Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, Friday, at the funeral home.
