Mindy Kay Christian, 40, of Montgomery City, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital – Audrain in Mexico, Missouri.

Mindy was born July 24, 1980 in Columbia, Missouri, a daughter of Steven LaVerne and Beverly Sue (Christian) Dowell.

She was a 1999 graduate of Wellsville-Middletown R-1 High School. Mindy had lived in Montgomery County all of her life.

Mindy had worked at Green Supply in Vandalia and later at Warren County Handicap. She then became employed at Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville in the transportation and dietary departments.

Mindy's life was her family. More than anything in the world, she enjoyed being with her family and hanging out with her kids. She enjoyed swimming and going to the beach. Mindy liked going to concerts, with "New Kids on the Block" being one of her all-time favorites. Mindy loved all kids. She didn't mind babysitting, playing or just hanging out with kids of all ages. Mindy's heart was big and her love for her family and friends was irreplaceable, she will be missed by many.

Mindy is survived by her companion of 22 years, Thomas Eugene Maggard, of Montgomery City and their children, a daughter, Kalli Brook Maggard, of Martinsburg and a son, Gavin Christopher Maggard, of Montgomery City; step-children, Craig Allen Maggard, Michael Wayne Maggard, Ryan James Maggard and Kristen Eileen Maggard, of Holts Summit; mother, Beverly Sue Dowell, of Martinsburg; father, Steven LaVerne Dowell, of Columbia; sister and brother-in-law, Carissa Lynn and Brian "Shorty" Davis, of St. Marys, Georgia; nieces and nephew, Kennedy Alexis Davis, of Valdosta, Georgia and Kristian Malaki Davis and Legend Grace Davis, of St. Marys, Georgia; half-sisters, Crystal Hudson, of Wellsville and Chere Appleton, of Yukon, Oklahoma; in addition to aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mardel Harlan; grandfather, Joseph Jackson; great-grandmother, Elizabeth Christian; cousin, Nicki Nation and half-brothers, Darren Sheets and Damon Sheets.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 23rd at the First United Pentecostal Church of Wellsville (formerly Wellsville Christian Church). Mr. Gene Burch will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Wellsville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service, Saturday, at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.
