Pauline Cecilia Lewis Harris, 90, of Wellsville, passed away at 3:27 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Harris was born December 26, 1925, in Ashley, Missouri, a daughter of Joseph Louis Grawe and Cecilia Adeline (Kamler) Grawe.

On December 27, 1947, in St. Clement, Missouri, she married George Allen Lewis. They shared over 35 years together and were the parents of seven children. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1983. She then married Eugene Scott Harris, on April 8, 1985, in Montgomery City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1990.

Pauline had been a Nurses Aide at New Florence Nursing Home from 1979-1982. Prior to that, she had worked at the garment factory in Vandalia and also the shoe factory in Hannibal and Mexico.

She moved to Wellsville in 1991. Pauline had lived in Middletown before that.

Pauline was a member of the VFW Auxillary in Wellsville.

She enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, sewing and crocheting. Pauline loved music, liked playing the guitar and especially loved to dance. She also liked to fish and enjoyed going boating. Pauline enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and squirrels. She was a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and loved watching them on television. Pauline volunteered at the Missouri Veteran's Home in Mexico, where she helped the veterans play bingo and she would always bake them cookies when she went. Most of all, she loved the time she got to spend with her children and grandchildren.

Pauline is survived by her seven children and their spouses, Sandra Kay "Sandy" and Ed Oberhaus, of Wellsville, Beverly Jo and Mel Marien, of Ballwin, Frank McCubbin "Mac" Lewis, of Wellsville, Susanna P. "Susie" and Tom Higgenbotham, of Montgomery City, Dorothy Marie and Tom Reichardt, of St. Louis, William George "Billy" and Pam Lewis, of Orrick and Rebecca Pauline "Becky" Lewis, of Wellsville; 13 grandchildren and spouses, Mike and Gina Oberhaus, of New Florence, Deana Oberhaus and Jason Delozier, of Wellsville, Tim and Cheryl Marien, of Imperial, Marc and Sarah Marien, of St. Peters, Matthew Marien, of Ballwin, Brandy and Charles Mitchell, of Wellsville, Brian Higgenbotham, of Montgomery City, Regina and David Hermann, of High Ridge, James R. "Jamie" II and Erica Largent, of St. Peters, Rachel Reichardt, of St. Louis, Clint Lewis, of Henderson, Nevada, Corey and Rachael Lewis, of Henderson, Nevada and Shay Lewis, of Wellsville; twenty-three great-grandchildren, Lauren Reagan and husband, David, of Montgomery City, Brayden Oberhaus, of New Florence, Austin Oberhaus, Alex and Alivia Stewart, of Wellsville, Hailey Marien, of Imperial, Mason and Palmer Marien, of St. Peters, Ashley, Katelyn and Chase Mitchell, of Wellsville, Lavin Higgenbotham, of Montgomery City, Hannah, Bailey, Collin and Nicholas Hermann, of High Ridge, James R. Largent III and Grace Largent, of St. Peters, Gavin McClelland, of Troy, Shelby Brewer, of St. Louis, Layla, Colton and Alyssa Lewis, of Henderson, Nevada; great-great granddaughter, Kennedy Reagan, of Montgomery City; in addition to several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Allen Lewis and Eugene Scott Harris; parents, Joseph and Cecilia Grawe; great-granddaughter, Faith Largent and brothers, Harold Joseph Grawe, Norbert Bernard Grawe and Elmer Albert Grawe.

Funeral services were at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Pastor Cheri Griggs and Pastor Justina Klekamp officiated.

Burial was in Sunrise Memorial Gardens, north of Montgomery City. Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons and great-grandsons, Jamie Largent, Mark Marien, Tim Marien, Austin Oberhaus, Brayden Oberhaus, Mike Oberhaus and Alex Stewart. Honorary pallbearer was her grandson, Brian Higgenbotham.

Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
