Roy Allen Hays, 86, of Wellsville, passed away at 3:50 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Golden Living Center/Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 18th at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Rev. John Ray and Rev. Bud Weiser will officiate. Serving as organist will be Cleta Mertz.

Burial will be in the Wellsville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Angel, John Howell, Brian Maskey, Dion Metz, Joe Weiser and Richard Wilson

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service, Friday, at the funeral home.

Mr. Hays was born October 16, 1929, at home in Wellsville, Missouri, a son of Thomas Allen and Opal Gertrude Dunn Hays.

He had lived in Wellsville all of his life.

Roy worked at the Wellsville Firebrick Company for 46 years as a kiln fireman.

He was a member of the Wellsville United Methodist-Presbyterian Church.

Roy enjoyed going to the restaurant and visiting with his friends.

Roy is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Henry and Vi Hays, of St. Peters; three nieces, Kimberly Diane Hays, of Providence, Rhode Island, Cynthia Renee Hays, of St. Louis and Petrece Lynn Metz and husband, Dion, of St. Charles; great-nephew, Jordan Metz, of St. Charles; great-niece, Erin Metz, of St. Charles; in addition to numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Opal Hays and an infant sister, Myrtle May Hays.
