Roy Lee Smith, 54, of New Florence passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019 at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – Lake St. Louis, Missouri, with his family by his side.

He was born December 31, 1964 in Quincy, Illinois, ason of James LeRoy and Karen Elizabeth (Myers) Smith.

Roy served his country in the United States Army National Guard.

On March 13, 1994 in New Florence, Missouri, he married Tina Marie Stock. They shared over 25 years together, before she preceded him in death on May 16, 2019.

Roy and Tina had lived at their present address for over 20 years. Prior to that, Roy had lived in Montgomery City and was raised in Hermann.

He was currently a truck driver for Kallmeyer Trucking in Hermann for over 7 years. Prior to that, Roy had owned and operated his own truck.

Roy was a member of Hermann Masonic Lodge No. 123 AF & AM as well as the National Rifle Association.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a collector of unique items. Roy loved the time he got to spend with his grandson, Cletus.

Roy is survived by his mother, Karen Elizabeth Saunders, of New Florence; children and their spouses, Dustin Lee "Dusty" and Maria Smith, of Phoenix, Arizona; Chris and Ashley Burke, of Wright City and Mandie and Darren Hecht, of Warrenton; brother, Jamie Oelschlaeger, of Montgomery City; grandchildren, Drayton "Cletus" Hecht, of Warrenton and Xavier and Landon Burke, of Wright City and mother-in-law, Irene Barteau, of Jonesburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Tina Marie Smith and father, James LeRoy Smith.

Roy was cremated as he requested and there will be no services held at this time.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.
