Stonewall "Tony" Jackson Walton, 84, of Middletown, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Stonebridge Senior Living in Hermann.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Grace Lutheran Church in Wellsville with Pastor Luke Wolters officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Myers Funeral Home in Middletown.

Tony was born September 16, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the son of Isaac Withrow and Margaret Whilena (Trower) Walton. On September 22, 1961, at Grace Lutheran Church in Wellsville, he married Sara "Betty" Elizabeth Kleinsorge who survives.

Tony worked as a Union Worker at A.P. Green Refractories for 37 years. Many of those years he also was a farmer and raised livestock. Prior to working at the Brick Plant he had worked on the construction of Interstate 70.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wellsville.

In addition to his wife Betty, survivors include three sons, Steve (Pam) Walton, Scott (Barbi) Walton, and Shannon (Kris) Walton, all of Middletown; seven grandchildren, Anthony (Alison) Walton, Tyler Walton, Jacob (Chelsea) Walton, Thomas (Ciara) Walton, Kayla Walton, Matthew Walton, and Seth Walton; three great-grandchildren, Karter Campbell, and Reese and Niko Walton; four brothers, James "Jim" (Lynn)Walton, of Centralia, Charles "Joe" (Doris) Walton, of Palm Bay, Florida, I.W. Walton, Jr, of Montgomery City, and Roy Walton, of Montgomery City; four sisters, Rebecca "Becky" Reagan, of Wellsville, Candace (Tasso) Potter, of Barnett, Missouri, Lucinda "Cindy" (Rodney) Shramek, of Middletown, and Margaret "Sue" (Dennis) Carroz, of Montgomery City; and two sisters-in-law, Terri Walton, of Montgomery City, and Peggy Kleinsorge, of Lenexa, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, William "Bill" Walton and Leslie "Les" Walton; three brothers-in-law, Ronald and Eldon "Butch" Kleinsorge, and Robert "Bob" Reagan; two sisters-in-law, Leslie Walton, and Ann Kleinsorge; one great-grandson Zaedyn Jackson Davis; two nephews, Doug Kleinsorge, and Gary Simmons; and one great nephew, Trey Potter.
