Vincent Paul Pursifull, 83, of Martinsburg, passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 at his home, with his loving family by his side.

Mr. Pursifull was born January 8, 1936 in Freeburg, Missouri, a son of Clarence William and Julia Barat (Sampson) Pursifull.

On March 16, 1957 in Martinsburg, Missouri, he married Carol Louise Test. They celebrated over 62 wonderful years of marriage together and were the proud parents of three sons. Paul and Carol lived in Wellsville from 1957 -1968. In 1968, they moved to Martinsburg to live and raise their family.

Paul worked at the Wellsville Fire Brick Company in the specialties department for several years, before retiring in 2000. He had also been employed at Brookstone in Mexico and was a friendly face as a greeter at Wal-Mart.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg and a former member of the Wellsville Jaycee's in the 1960's.

Paul was musically inclined and loved playing the guitar as well as singing. At one time, he had his own band. Paul enjoyed watching his grandson and nephews in their pursuit of music.

A dedicated husband, supportive and loving father, proud grandfather and friend too many will be missed by all who knew him.

Paul is survived by his wife, Carol Louise Pursifull, of the home in Martinsburg; three sons, Vincent Paul Pursifull, of Martinsburg, Brian Eugene Pursifull and wife, Suzanne, of Mexico and Mark Alan Pursifull, of Mexico; grandson, Cody Vincent Pursifull and friend, Allison Fulton, of Columbia; brothers and sister and spouses, Francis Joseph "Joe" and Joann Pursifull, of Louisiana, James Anthony "Jim" Pursifull, of Columbia, Maureen Ann and Andy Ehret, of Martinsburg, Raymond Joseph and Bonnie Pursifull, of Mexico and George Edward Pursifull, of Hazelwood; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Pursifull, of Eugene, Betty Pursifull, of Martinsburg and Jane Pursifull, of Titusville, Florida; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Clarence "Bill" Pursifull, John James Pursifull, Thomas Patrick Pursifull and sisters, Julia Jane Pursifull, Rosemary Ann Byland and Mary Therese Appling.

Mass of Christian Burial was at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg. Father Austin Okoli officiated, assisted by Deacon Ron Deimeke. Serving as organist was Palmyra Dubbert. Cantor was Patty Fennewald.

Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service, Friday, at the church.

Burial was in the Wellsville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were his nephews, Paul Appling, Colin Pursifull, Pat Pursifull, Mike Test, Robert Test, Jr. and family friend, Dave Benskin. Honorary pallbearers were his brothers, Joe Pursifull, James Pursifull, Raymond Pursifull and George Pursifull.

Services were under the direction of the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.
