Virgil Pearl "Satch" Beabout, 80, of Montgomery City, passed away at 8:30 a.m., Sunday, February 26, 2017 at his home, with his family by his side.

Mr. Beabout was born September 30, 1936, in High Hill, Missouri, a son of Vernon Lawrence and Frances Marie (Harrison) Beabout.

On September 19, 1959, in Montgomery City, Missouri, he married Mary Ruth Blake. She preceded him in death on December 23, 1993.

Satch had lived at his present address for the past 12 years. Prior to that, he lived in Montgomery City from 1959-1970 and then lived in Wellsville from 1970-2001.

He worked for the State Highway Department for several years. Before going to work for the State, Satch drove a dump truck in St. Charles for a concrete plant. He also worked for Bill Smith and Wrights Redi Mix in Montgomery City. Satch was also a mechanic and truck driver for Ralph Elmore.

Satch enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and boating. He liked going to auctions and spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks. Satch loved his cats Alli, Barney and Baby.

Satch is survived by his companion, Haley Bequette, of Montgomery City; children, Randall Alan "Randy" Beabout and Donna Robinson, of Middletown, Cynthia Sue "Cindy" Pearson and husband, Lonnie, of Montgomery City and Robert Blake "Robbie" Beabout and Kate Degonia, of Columbia; grandchildren and spouses, Adria Sophia and Dale Anderson, of Middletown, Blake Randall and Melissa Beabout, of Jacksonville, Florida, Jana Frances and Shawn Heupel, of Middletown, Celia Ruth Beabout and Ethan Robert Beabout, of Wellsville, Tessa Leigh Hill, of Louisiana, Christopher Dennis and Allyssa Tarrants, of Midland, Michigan, Lacie Sue Tarrants, of Montgomery City, Gage Robert Smith, of Wellsville and Magnolia Jean Beabout, of Columbia and great-grandchildren, Piper, Tinley, Steele and Paisley Anderson, of Middletown, Justin, Natalie, Layla and Alena Beabout, of Jacksonville, Florida, Holly Hill, Piper Goldsberry and Sidney Goldsberry, of Louisiana, Xavier Christopher Tarrants, of Midland, Michigan, Brendan Alexander Tarrants and Zane Anthony Tarrants, of Auxvasse and Kelbie Keith Brinegar and Alexis Grace Fischer, of Montgomery City.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Beabout; parents, Vernon and Frances Beabout; grandson, Adam Beabout; great-granddaughter, Faith Marie Tarrants and sister, Helen Marie Reagan.

Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Rev. Chris Meyer officiated.

Honorary pallbearers were his grandsons, Christopher Tarrants, Blake Beabout and Ethan Beabout.

Visitation was held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the funeral home.

Burial of his cremains was in Bethel Cemetery in rural Montgomery City.
