Wesley Allen Angel, 87, of Wellsville, passed away at 9:56 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021, at Boone Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, at Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Burial will follow in Wellsville Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Wesley was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Middletown, the son of James Asa "Buck" and Mary Elizabeth (Watson) Angel. On May 4, 1957, he married Darlene Elizabeth Smith at the Christian Church in Montgomery City. She preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 2006.

Wesley cut and sold fence posts. He was an antique collector and enjoyed attending auctions and Amish sales. Wesley and Darlene had a flea market at their home for many years. They helped at Hayes Apple Orchard and they had an orchard at their home. He also loved to travel and had been in 23 different states. He was very friendly and never met a stranger.

Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Angel, of Mexico, Carrie Angel (Karl Macke), of Fulton, and Bonnie Angel (David Jennings), of Bowling Green; three brothers, Paul Dean Angel (Cindy), of Couch, Mo., Alfred Joe Angel, of Middletown, and William "Willie" Angel, of Middletown; one brother in law, Lester Smith (Sandra), of Montgomery City; two sisters in law, Maggie Smith, of Wellsville, and Donna Angel, of Middletown; three grandchildren, Matthew Harms, (Shannon) of Crestview, Fla., Daniel Callahan, (Jenn Meyer) of Mexico, and Clayton Callahan, of Kingdom City; four great grandchildren, Kameryn Harms, of Tampa Fla., and Ashlyn Harms, of Ramstein AFB, Germany, Ayden Callahan, of Mexico, and Paul Callahan, of Kingdom City; one step-grandson, Randall Wansing (Candice), of St. Peters;  two step great grandchildren, Jessica and Elliott Wansing, of St. Peters; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Angel Harms, two infant sons, one infant daughter, two sisters, Nellie Ruth Angel, and Mary Elliott; three brothers, James Asa "Jitterbug" Angel Jr, James Marion "Bud" Angel, and Robert Lee "Bob" Angel; two sisters-in-law, Frances Gentry, and Evelyn Angel; and two brothers-in-law, Billy Joe Gentry, and Robert Smith.

Memorials may be given to the Montgomery County Senior Center for "Meals on Wheels". They may be sent in care of Myers Funeral Home, 203 E. Bates Street, Wellsville, MO 63384.
