William Earl "Bill" Dunn, 76, of Middletown, passed away at 8:22 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at his home, with his loving family by his side.

Mr. Dunn was born April 16, 1940, in Middletown, Missouri, a son of Gordon Caryll and Lura Minerva Jarboe Dunn.

He was a 1958 graduate of Wellsville-Middletown R-1 High School.

Bill served his country in the United States Army entering on July 18, 1961 and was honorably discharged on July 17, 1963. He was the recipient of the Expert (Rifle) and Marksman (Carbine).

On May 28, 1965he married Erma Fay Kleinsorge at the Middletown United Methodist Church. They celebrated over 50 years of marriage together and were the proud parents of four children.

Bill went into business with his dad in 1965, was joined by his brother Jim in 1972, and was part of G.C. Dunn and Sons Inc. for the rest of his life.

He was a member of the Middletown Methodist Church all of his life. Bill was also a charter member of Middletown Lions Club and an interim Wellsville-Middletown R-1 school board member.

Bill really enjoyed working at his business. He also enjoyed camping with his grandkids and fishing at Bennett Springs. In his younger years, he liked slow pitch softball. In the 1970's, Bill was instrumental in starting the Middletown Khoury League. More than anything, Bill loved his grandchildren and cherished the time he got to spend with them.

Bill is survived by his wife, Erma Fay Dunn, of the home in Middletown; daughters, Paula Ann Bertels and husband, David, of Martinsburg and Marjorie Kay "Margie" Kemp, of Fulton; sons, Douglas William Dunn and wife, Heather, of Fulton and Keith Gordon Dunn, of Middletown; grandchildren, Rachel, Courtney and Katie Bertels, of Martinsburg, Megan Kemp, of Fulton, Will and Trent Dunn, of Fulton and Sirrina Dunn, of Middletown; brothers and sisters and spouses, Larry Gene and Mary Ellen Dunn and Barbara Ann and Tom Eckler, of Middletown, Judy Carolyn and Bob Rottman, of Wellsville and James Robert "Jim" and Nancy Dunn, of Middletown; in addition to nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Caryll and Lura Dunn.

Visitation was held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Myers Funeral Home in Middletown.

Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 25, 2016 at Middletown United Methodist Church. Rev. Christina Cobb officiated. Serving as pianist was Carrie Nelson. Special music was provided by his brothers, Larry and Jim Dunn.

Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were Ben Eckler, Harold Eckler, Heath Eckler, Howard Eckler, David Kleinsorge and Paul Rottman. Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren, Rachel Bertels, Courtney Bertels, Megan Kemp, Will Dunn, Sirrina Dunn, Katie Bertels and Trent Dunn.
