Wilma Lucille Woodson, 103, of Middletown, passed away at 1:55 p.m., Monday, December 26, 2016 at Golden Living Center/Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville, with her children, Bob, Joyce and Chee by her side.

Mrs. Woodson was born May 24, 1913, in Eagleville, Missouri, a daughter of James and Nora (DeLong) Montgomery.

She was a 1931 graduate of Hickman High School in Columbia. Wilma continued her education attending University of Missouri-Columbia for a short time and then on to Rosthal Business School where she graduated.

On January 25, 1933, in New London, Missouri, she married Willard Pearson Woodson. Willard preceded her in death on May 10, 1968. Wilma and Willard met in Columbia while working. Willard managed area Kroger stores which kept them traveling for 13 years. During this time, they started their family.

Wilma and Willard moved to Middletown from Columbia in 1945. In 1946, they started Woodson's Locker and ran it until selling in 1963. For 4 years, Wilma worked for Montgomery County as the Manager of Commodities for the State of Missouri. She also worked for 10 years at the Country Cupboard in Middletown. She was a member of the Middletown Methodist Church. Wilma was also a member of Eastern Star (Grace Chapter) No. 323 OES of Warrenton and National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Montgomery Chapter, receiving her 50 year pin.

Wilma enjoyed babysitting. She also liked watching the birds, especially cardinals and hummingbirds. Wilma loved traveling and had gone on a cruise, as well as visited Alaska and had traveled to Sanibel Island, Florida for several years. She also enjoyed camping with her family and especially liked sitting on her carport, visiting with family and friends. Wilma was always ready to go. Most of all, she loved her family and spent a lifetime caring for them.

Wilma is survived by her children, Robert Eugene "Bob" Woodson, of Middletown, Joyce Ann Gerdeman and Bobby Utterback, of Middletown and Harold Lee "Chee" and Michelle Woodson, of Columbia; five grandchildren and spouses, Shelly Lea and John Groteluschen, of Montgomery City, Jill Ann May, of Mexico, Michael Wayne and Kim Lionberger, of Wentzville, Megan Leigh Woodson, of Columbia and Carrie Ann Gerdeman and Shelly Wolfe, of Rapid City, South Dakota; 11 great-grandchildren, Lindsay Brandenburg, of Montgomery City, Tanner Brandenburg and fiancée Ashley Armentrout, of Columbia, Kade May and Kelsey May, of Mexico, Jesse Lionberger and wife, Jenny, of Memphis, Tennessee, Zachary Lionberger and fiancee, Karly McCubbins, of Springfield, Chad Lionberger, of Kansas City, Austin Lionberger, of Kansas City, Myken Gerdeman and Tagen Gerdeman, of Rapid City, South Dakota and Izayah Miller, of Columbia; 2 great-great grandsons, Nash Brandenburg, of Montgomery City and Jett Lionberger, of Springfield; 2 step-grandchildren, Christie and Mike and 7 step-great-grandchildren, Chloe, Emily, Mason, Brandon, Mady, Lillie and Madison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard Pearson Woodson; daughter, Wilma Fern Woodson; daughter-in-law, Betty Lou Woodson; granddaughters, Brenda Sue Woodson and Susan Renee Woodson and sister, Deva Grace McGill.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Myers Funeral Home in Middletown. Rev. Dawn Gerard officiated.

Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Tanner Brandenburg, Shelly Groteluschen, Chad Lionberger, Mike Lionberger, Kade May and Megan Woodson.

Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service, Friday, at the funeral home.
