Eddie Wayne Cochran, formerly of Middletown, Mo. died Monday, October 14, 2019, at his home in Ashland, Missouri, following a two month battle with cancer. He was 66 years old.
Eddie Wayne Cochran was born December 11, 1952 in Mexico, Mo., the son of Herbert Ronald and Frieda Sophia Louisa Freie Cochran. He was baptized March 1, 1953 and confirmed his faith on April 23, 1967, at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Wellsville. He was a 1971 graduate of Wellsville-Middletown R-1 High School.
On October 12, 1974 he married Judith Elizabeth Kniess at St. Clement Catholic Church in St. Clement. They recently celebrated their forty-fifth anniversary. Mr. Cochran resided in the Middletown area where he was engaged in farming until moving to Mexico, Mo., in 2004. He had been employed by Maupin Grain Bins, Sam’s Warehouse, and Environmental Services at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico. He had moved to Ashland in 2012.
Eddie enjoyed mowing the yard, woodworking, building things for his family, attending fish dinners, the Trinity Lutheran’s annual ice cream social, family reunions, and Angie’s dog, Teddy. Most of all, he loved bragging about his children and grandchildren, and going to their sporting events.
In addition to his wife, Judy, Eddie is survived by his twin children and their spouses, Andrew Myron and Tiffany Cochran of Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Angela Evelyn and Samuel Easley of Ashland, Mo.; three grandsons, Logan Andrew, Gabriel James Easley of Ashland, Mo., Clay Edward Cochran of Lee’s Summit, Mo.
Also surviving are brothers and sisters-in-law, Herbert Lee and Joan Cochran, and Leroy Edward and Linda Cochran of Middletown, Mo.; and Richard Ronald and GeJuan Cochran of Mexico, Mo.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Yvonne and Kouwe Hofen, Sandra and Ben Reid, and Delores Blackwell, all of Bowling Green, Mo., Sue and Charles Wankel of Curryville, Mo., Marie and Boyd Bounds of Farber, Mo. Donna and Louie Morris of Palmyra, Kenny and Louise Kniess of Hannibal, Kathleen and Jim Branham of Louisiana, Leon Cobb of Middletown, and several nieces and nephews.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Frieda and David Lederle; sisters-in-law, Doris Cochran, Bernadette Cobb, Mary Ann Kniess; brothers-in-law, Harold Kniess and Carl Blackwell, and a great-niece, Kristen Hofen.
Funeral services for Mr. Cochran were held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2019, at the Myers Funeral Home in Middletown. Rev. Donald Sonntag officiated. Sandy Reid served as soloist. Serving as organist was Eldora Lowry. Visitation was held from 1:00 p.m., until the time of service, Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial was in the Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown. Serving as pallbearers were Lyndell Ankrom, Brett Cobb, Devan Cobb, Aaron Cochran, Kevin Cochran and Craig Freie.
